Job Summary

Job Title:             Processed Meat Manager

Reports To:         Meat Department Manager

 

If you’ve worked in food service, fast food, grocery, or retail, you know how fast things move—and how important it is to keep shelves stocked, displays looking sharp, and guests coming back. In this role, you’ll focus on the pre-packaged meat section—think pre-packaged lunch meats, bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and more. These grab-and-go favorites are household staples, and you’ll help make sure they’re easy to find, fresh, and well-stocked every day.

What You'll Do: 

As the pre-packaged protein manager at Festival Foods, you will:

  • Lead the processed meats area. You’ll oversee stocking, rotation, and merchandising of guest favorites like sliced deli meats, snack sticks, and pre-packaged proteins.

  • Ensure quality and freshness. Check product dates and packaging to meet safety standards and deliver the quality guests expect.

  • Create displays. Keep processed meats organized and appealing using store plans, end caps, and designated product placement.

  • Support and guide the team. Set clear expectations, reinforce performance standards, and help team members grow.

  • Step in when needed. Support Meat Department associates in the absence of the Department Manager.

  • Help guests find what they need. Answer questions and recommend the best options for lunches, dinners, and grilling weekends.

  • Lead by example: Demonstrate great guest service, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Manage inventory and ensure accurate pricing. Keep product levels where they should be and make sure every item is clearly and correctly labeled.

  • Maintain a clean workspace. Support food safety by keeping the backroom, cases, and sales floor neat and sanitized.

  • Meet daily department goals. Ensure product availability and full displays by 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day.

 

What You'll Bring:

To excel in this role, you should have: 

 

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival to reimburse if associate obtains while employed)
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate others
  • Must possess great oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of technology and the use of a computer
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates
  • Knowledge and understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premise

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 

  • The employee must possess the ability to stand in place for a long period of time; walk the store; bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.  Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment
  • This position requires the employee have the ability to have full rand of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock.  Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time 
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment 
  • This position requires the employee to lift up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Working conditions consist of occasional exposure to extreme temperatures

 

 

Schedule:

The Processed Meat Manager is a position that is full-time. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
